From veteran Catering Directors to professionally trained Chefs and Service Staff, Parkhurst's talented team of event specialists shares a commitment to excellence and a unique understanding of what it takes to make every event an affair to remember. This does not go unnoticed by our guests, who often remark on the respect and camaraderie of our staff.

Melissa Schindler
Director of Dining Services
The Carnegie Museums of Art and Natural History

Melissa joined the Parkhurst Dining team in 1999 as a catering server at the Carnegie Museum. Shortly after joining the team, she was promoted to supervisor at the Carnegie Café and Fossil Fuels. In 2006, Melissa decided to venture to the Corporate Dining side of Parkhurst and joined the team in the U.S. Steel Building where she assisted in running PNC Café 36 and oversaw the food service for the U.S. Steel executives. In 2009, after obtaining her Business Management Degree from DeVry University, Melissa returned to the Museums at the Carnegie Science Center as the Catering Supervisor. In 2011, she was promoted to the Catering Director for the Carnegie Science Center, Andy Warhol Museum and Parkhurst Event Catering. Melissa is currently the Director of Dining at the Oakland campus. Melissa oversees the daily operations at Fossil Fuels and Carnegie Café as well as the catering events. Melissa has a strong desire to provide excellent customer service to all guests and clients and has a passion for new and creative ideas with both food and overall experience.

Bill Jones
Director of Retail Catering

Bill began his career at Parkhurst Dining in July 1996 and has worked in the hospitality industry for over 35 years. Bill started as a dishwasher and worked his way through the kitchen as a line cook, sous chef and, after graduating from Community College of Allegheny County/American Culinary Federation Chef Apprenticeship program with honors, he worked privately as a Chef in Villanova for three years. He has been a Hotel, Restaurant and Banquet Manager with over 15,000 square feet of meeting space to manage. Bill also worked at the Top of The Triangle as Banquet Manager for 3 years before joining Parkhurst.

Glenn Freeman
Director of Dining Services
Carnegie Science Center and The Andy Warhol Museum

Glenn joined Eat’n Park Hospitality Group in September, 2005 working for Parkhurst Dining at the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh as Service Manager then Assistant Director of Dining. He is a graduate of Moon High School and went to work in the restaurant business right away. His first job was at the Hyeholde Restaurant where he worked for ten years. Within those years he started out as a dishwasher and worked his way up through the ranks until he was the Restaurant Manager. His next position was at the Duquesne Club for nine years where he was Assistant Director of Dining, Breakfast Manager and Catering Manager. His current position with ENPHG is Director of Dining at the Carnegie Science Center & Andy Warhol Museum. Glenn is a member of the Chaine des Rotisseurs and is a Certified Level 2 Sommelier from the WSET.

Kelsey Barbiaux

Kelsey was first hired as a server in 2013, utilizing the knowledge gained from a server’s position to fulfill internship requirements for college course credits. Throughout the process of completing her internship and graduating from Slippery Rock University, Kelsey remained a part of the Parkhurst team. After achieving success in her role with the support of Parkhurst managers and mentors, Kelsey was promoted in two years to Director. Kelsey’s top career goal is to keep her passion for hospitality, events, and people as bright and alive as it is today.
